Secret Message Decoder
Do you have a pair of red-blue 3D glasses? Maybe you can see my secret messages:
One is a little more secret than the other, but the left-hand image should pop when viewed through a blue filter, and the right-hand message through a red filter. You can make similar secret messages with markers. Select a secret message color, preferably something bright like cyan or pink, then use colors from the opposite end of the color wheel to create a busy camouflage pattern. When viewed through a red filter, for example, the red, orange and yellow blocks blend into the now-red background, while blue and green sections trend towards black.
To do this at home, without breaking out the photoshop, grab a selection of markers and transparent colored filters. The markers should be translucent, as in you should be able to see a color when you color over it with a different color. Crayola and similar work well. Don’t use opaque markers like Sharpies. Make a test sheet to see which colors blend and which pop with any given filter:
Select the message color, and the camouflage colors. Write the message, then make a busy, messy pattern to cover the message using the filter colors. When you place the filter over the message, the original message should pop:
